Upcoming Guests

The Comedy Writer's Series is happy to announce its three upcoming guests:

Eric Drysdale: Thursday, March 22nd 8-9pm, Philosophy 716

For nearly 6 years, Eric worked as a writer for Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, contributing to their acclaimed coverage of both the 2000 and 2004 elections. While there, Eric garnered 4 emmy awards, two Peabodys, two Television Critics Awards, and an ASIFA animation award. He also contributed to the show's longtime best-seller America, The Book, winner of Publisher's Weekly 2004 Book of the Year, as well as the Thurber prize for humor.

John Oliver: Tuesday, March 27th 8-9pm, Dodge 413

John Oliver is a British comedian currently serving as a correspondent on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and performing stand up around New York City. His previous credits include writing and starring in BBC Radio 4's satrical comedy show The Department with Chris Addison and Andy Zaltzman. He also starred in Political Animal a live show which featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which featured edgy political humor and jokes about croissants. He is an ex-member of the Cambridge Footlights and attended Mark Rutherford Upper School in Bedford.

Chris Regan: Thursday, April 5th 8-9pm: Lifetime Screening Room - Dodge 511


Chris Regan is a writer and a comedian who wrote for "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" from 1999 through 2006. During that time, he won five Emmy Awards, 2 Peabody Awards, and was nominated for a Writer’s Guild of America Award. He was also one of the authors of the best-selling “America: The Book” and has published humor pieces in USA Today, New York Magazine and on the website Fanatical Apathy.

Regan had developed comedy pilots for both 20th Century Fox and Comedy Central, and his website This Day in Mythstory: 365 Days of Facts and (Mostly) Fictions will be the basis of a book published by Andrews McMeel in 2008— mythstory.net

Eugene Mirman: Monday, April 9th 1-2pm

Eugene is a New York City based comedian, writer, actor and filmmaker. He has appeared on several TV shows including Late Night With Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Carson Daly, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Home Movies, Third Watch, plus many forgotten or irrelevant shows and channels — Food Network, NBC’s Late Friday, Showtime, Jump Cuts, CNNfn, VH1, ESPN Classics, TBS, TRIO, etc. Currently, The Eug is working on an advice/ guide to modern living/ humor book for Harper Collins (a very large publishing company) due out in the fall of 2007. He’s also creating and starring in Space Talk From Dimension Eugene — a sci-fi talk show for a new comedy broadband network being launched by Turner Broadcasting (also a large company).
